  1. We recently updated to the latest version of IPS, our board software. We now support two-factor authentication. Getting Started To enable two-factor authentication on your account, choose 'Account Settings' from your user-bar. Click 'Account Security'. You may be reasked for your account password. You will be presented with the option of enabling two-factor authentication on your account. You'll then be presented with a QR code, using an Android or iOS device, install the Google Authenticator app, then proceed to scan the barcode. You will then be presented with a code, input it on this screen to confirm you've setup the app correctly, and to enable two-factor authentication on your account. You'll then be presented with the following screen, which indicates your account is protected with multi-factor authentication. FAQ Will I need my phone every time I log in? Yes. Your account will be protected with two-factor authentication, which means you will need to have your phone to generate codes to log in to your account. If you use the 'Remember me' option, your login will not expire for up to a month, which means you will not need to re-validate on that computer until you re-login. We are working on a solution that you will only need to present your Google Authenticator codes when our site doesn't recognize your login location. What happens if I get a new phone? If you are going to get rid of your phone, deactivate Google Authenticator and reactivate it on your new phone. What happens if I lose my phone? If you lose your phone, you will lose access to your account. The only way to begin the process of verifying who you are will be to get in touch with us, we recommend using the BaysideGamers page on Facebook. We will try to validate your account ownership and disable Google Authenticator for your account. Will this be mandatory? No, this is entirely opt-in. Although we have no plans to make this mandatory, we will continue to look for new ways to improve account security.
