Xbox Series S

The Xbox Series S price was "leaked" and then it was officially announced by Xbox this morning. What do you guys think about it? And what do you think about the £250 price tag?

A very fair price tag, though that storage amount is concerning. 512 GB (most likely less after OS usage) will barely hold any next gen games.

I think they're trying to push people to stream their games instead. So going for their Gamepass and other services etc.

Will you personally pay for it though? I wouldn’t spend as much on a game myself.

they already added the game pass onto the consoles I believe, its pretty much required at this point.

Personally, yeah although not for the Xbox. I'm getting ready to spend £400+ on the PS5 which I've saved up over the past few months. They came out every 7 years-ish so it's not a huge problem really to spend so much

I hate the Xbox myself, have never been into it personally.

Don't have the time to watch it right now but are those just life size copies of the console? Or has he got the actual consoles from Microsoft?

Actual size consoles, but they are just dummies and won't work. It's crazy how big the Xbox series X is, nearly as big as any PC tower.

Going to fun figuring out if it will fit on my TV stand next to my TV. I want to have it laid out horizontally rather than have it standing up.

I still don't see why they would release a disc-less console. Sounds like a complete gimmick to me and not even worthy of a single penny. I actually almost paid for one in December over the Series X because there was no stock and I was clicking for the first available on microsoft. So glad I didn't. Because without a disc, what does that leave me? Not with very much. I probably would have been a bit frustrated if that was the first stock I could get. The fact that I was even able to add it to my cart to begin with is a good thing because that allowed me to actually buy it instead of the S.

I really am tempted to buy a Series S at some point because I do like the idea of decluttering and not having games lying around anymore, but I can't find any proper specs for it. I've heard that the Series S has the same hardware as the Xbox One X or something.

 

If I buy a next-gen console, I'd like to have next-gen hardware.

I quite like it. It's a great console for people on a budget and works quite well with plenty of games.

I was very surprised to see that they had taken £50 off the price tag during Christmas, they also did this I believe during Thanksgiving in the US and the Black Friday sales as well which made it a perfect budget console for people to pick up for sure. I myself would have loved to be able to snag it when it was £50 off but I didn't have the funds at the time which was a shame. If you are looking for something basic and you do a lot of your gaming through digital then the Series S is perfect!
