Debashis 2 Posted November 5, 2023 Posted November 5, 2023 With the increasing integration of cross-platform play, how do you perceive the role of PC gaming in bridging the gap between different gaming communities, and what impacts might this have on the industry as a whole?
Reverie 5 Posted November 21, 2023 Posted November 21, 2023 PC gaming I think should become the center hub of it all in my opinion. Then the different consoles use apps related to the software and are able to cross play! I am hopeful there will come a time where you've purchased it on the PC for example and perhaps you could play it on the PS5 and not have to buy another copy of the game, but I doubt that will happen as everyone wants a bit of that money.
Uncrowned Guard 7 Posted November 24, 2023 Posted November 24, 2023 PC gaming needs to get over its cheating hurdle before it can be the frontrunner to improve gaming. PC is perfectly placed to break through exclusive games and encourage cross-play between platforms, but even as an avid PC gamer myself, I normally disable cross-play if I end up on a console to avoid the PC side. Unfortunately, that's going to be so far in the future, even if it does happen. There are going to be those who feel that by using cheats their gameplay is god-tier and love having the feeling of "owning" all those newbs. It's just the nature of these games on PC, you could go for the Nuclear option to battle them with kernel-level anti-cheats but, in the end, the gamers who buy and play the games are the ones who suffer the most.

Ya, sadly social media and streaming are going to be an endless pressure on anti-cheats. People with massive networks trying to find ways to look better on their videos is a hurdle for any company to overcome as the group of players trying to find a way to cheap vastly outnumber the anti-cheat team. Anymore, at least when it comes to esport-style games, I'm not against kennel-level anti-cheats. However, they still need to work and most still seem to struggle.
