I honestly don’t know what to do anymore. The thing is, my life has gotten so busy that I have less time to dedicate to Bayside. Before, I had more free time and could be a bit more active with posting and content. But now, as I’ve fallen fully back into the deep end of my own life, Bayside has also gone quiet. What’s hardest for me is that when the staff becomes inactive, the members tend to follow suit. On top of that, there’s a lot of work behind the scenes. Bayside is still running IPS v4, and maybe one day we’ll upgrade to v5, but the hosting provider I’m with currently doesn’t meet the necessary requirements. Since the IPS Marketplace shut down, it’s become much harder to keep plugins and themes updated or even supported. Essentially, half of our web services are no longer maintained, and I end up having to manage updates myself. Once we move to v5, much of this won’t even be an issue. Unfortunately, many developers have gone inactive, and the days of great plugins and mods seem to be fading. We’re still here, I mean, I’m still here. The domain and hosting provider have another six months left, and after that, I might consider switching providers to meet the requirements for a move to v5. That could also be a chance to streamline things and remove features we don’t really need, like the download page, for example. What I really need now are people and members to help! I can’t do this alone, and keeping the site running isn’t as cheap as it used to be. We’ve been going strong since 2015, and I’d love to keep it that way.
