The game is based on plat to earn model, in other words, you can play games to make money. In order to play Axie Infinity, you need NFTs called Axies. You can buy Axies through the game marketplace, however, in order to buy Axies, you need Ethereum. (The game is built on Ethereum Blockchain). The Axie NFT you are buying is not cheap at all, so if you want to get back your investment you need to play often and get good at the game.
