Many modding communities have extended the life of some of these older games. You have to only just look over at Skyrim and Fallout4 communities. There are so many things that modders have done to improve the overall experience of the game and add a bit of fun and flair to the game.

Many PC games that were released during the Golden Era (90s-Early 2000s) are classics (most of which are the foundation of games out today) with designs built around practically infinite replayability since the get-go. Mods and dedicated servers make it even easier to keep revisiting to this day on any PC hardware. It's like GTA five, without the mods and what it has became today we won't even see GTA6 LOL it would be SOoooooooooooooo DEAD
