Kernel Level Anti Cheat Software, Is It Neccessary?

Recommended Posts

With the time frame coming up in which Roit will be adding their Vanguard anti-cheat system in League of Legends, there's a movement from other publishers and developers to start adding this kernel-level anti-cheat software into their games. It's more of an arms race between the game makers and those who create the cheating software. With kernel-level anti-cheat, everything is done on and with your computer is watched by these pieces of software. Essentially the anti-cheat software has complete and total access to what happens within your computer. There will come a point in which regular users will have enough as they are the ones being hampered by all of these systems that are in their best interest.
