SCS Blog: US Traffic Lights
EmpireKicking posted a topic in Truck Simulators,
An (un)expected result was that by mass replacement of the old lights, almost every junction and intersection in American Truck Simulator had broken. Lights colliding with other objects, signs and street name signs had also moved to pretty funny places... good times (especially for our map designers who had to fix this mess).
But in the end, we managed to overcome these issues and with update 1.35, every State (CA, NV, AZ, NM, OR and upcoming WA) will have real unique traffic lights. So that means you can now enjoy even more authentic roads, with more options now available for possible future additions, like the Flashing Yellow Arrow.

Toy Story 4 Trailer Reunites Woody And Bo Peep
EmpireKicking posted a record in Reviews On Latest Movies/TV,
As the teaser suggest, this one hinges on a new member joining the gang – Bonnie’s arts-and-crafts project Forky, voiced by Tony Hale (aka Arrested Development’s Buster Bluth). As her favourite plaything, he means the world to her – but his identity crisis sees him fall from the family car on a road trip. Woody goes on a rescue mission that separates him from the rest of the gang, and brings him back to his old flame, Bo Peep, at a funfair. Then the Beach Boys – ‘God Only Knows’ starts playing, and we have no idea what else the trailer included from there because the tears started flowing. From what we could make out, there’s a villainous new doll called Gabby Gabby, the rest of Bonnie’s toys hatch a plot to find Woody, and Woody ponders a life away from his owners. Expect another emotional rollercoaster from the toys you know and love.
Toy Story 4 comes from director Josh Cooley, who previously helmed Inside Out short Riley’s First Date, and will arrive in UK cinemas on 21 June.

SCS Blog: Washington: Logging cliff road
EmpireKicking posted a topic in Truck Simulators,
Our map designers also have a new tool and process for scenic background creations available. This will help us create an even more immersive environment in our games. We used them extensively while creating this hill-side road. You can see the results in this fantastic panoramic screenshot gallery.

How To Overclock Your Graphics Card
EmpireKicking posted a record in latest Technology News ,
Years ago, eager overclockers did genuinely run the risk of cooking their chips. Overclocking wasn't the most user-friendly process. But now times have changed. There are so many safeguards in place in your silicon that you’d have to really try to brick your hardware while doing some standard overclocking. There is still a little risk to overclocking, however: depending on which aftermarket vendor made your card, you may void your warranty. If anything goes wrong, you'll probably just crash your machine and need to restart; you're unlikely to do serious damage to your graphics card unless your overclock keeps the card at dangerous temperatures for long periods of time.
Every GPU is different, and some cards are champion overclockers. I was able to break the 1.5GHz barrier with my GTX 970 G1 Gaming edition, partly because Gigabyte specially check their overclocking card’s chips to make sure they’re the ones with the most headroom. I was able to get mighty close to 1.5GHz with my reference GTX 980 too, but the extra cooling of the Gigabyte card meant my GTX 970 also runs an awful lot cooler.
Temperature is something to think about before you start tweaking your GPU. If you’ve got an AMD Radeon R9 290X with a stock cooler then your card is likely to be running at some 93ºC under load already. You’re not going to get anywhere overclocking that beastly GPU.
